On November 23-25, 2023, the National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Public Union of Hematologists of Azerbaijan jointly organized the “3^rd Congress of Azerbaijani Hematology Specialists, 1^st International Blood Bank” and a symposium dedicated to the “100^th anniversary of the National leader Heydar Aliyev and transfusiological medicine.” The event was actively attended by employees and residents of the Department of Hematology of ASATID named after A. Aliyev. Head of the department associate professor Elmira Gadimova and assistant Mehpara Kazimova, who moderated the section “Hemostasis and Thrombosis,” assistant Gunel Alizadeh, made a report on the topic “Clinical approach to a patient with bleeding”. Assistant Ph.D. Qiyas Huseynov moderated the panel discussion “Blood Service” and at the same time presented the report “Quality Management of the Blood Service”. At the expert council, which discussed clinical cases, Shahla Mustafazadeh, a resident of the hematology department, gave a report on “Diagnostics of a patient with lymphoma, lymphangiectasia, coagulopathy”.
The three-day congress, which continued with extensive scientific discussions, was useful and instructive.
