The next Congress of the European Union for the Study of a liver (EASL) EASL-2023 was held in Vienna, Austria. The latest annual data on the latest achievements in the field of hepatology and planned studies are presented for the first time at EASL congresses. This year's Congress was also marked by the adoption of several protocols for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases associated with hepatological problems, as well as the wealth of these data. Thus, “EASL clinical practice guidelines on acute and chronic liver failure” (on acute and chronic liver failure), “EASL Clinical practice guidelines on Delta hepatitis virus” (on Delta viral hepatitis) and “a multi-Society Delphi consensus statement on new fatty Liver nomenclature of diseases" (multidisciplinary Delphic consensus on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) has been officially adopted. The congress traditionally held a postgraduate course of study, meetings with experts, sessions with the results of scientific research, master classes, poster and abstract sessions, as well as trainings (ultrasound, elastometry, biopsy and histological analysis). Special attention is paid to the primary diagnosis of hepatological problems and an interdisciplinary approach. Gulustan Babayeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy of Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A. Aliyev, also took part in this important event. As a result of the meetings of our employee responsible for the scientific work of Azerbaijan Society of Gastroenterology and Invasive Endoscopy with the heads of gastroenterological societies of the USA, Ukraine and Kazakhstan at the congress, agreements were reached on conducting joint research.
