The representative office of the World Health Organization in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Health, the Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance and TƏBIB in our republic are taking measures to “strengthen the emergency care system". In order to improve the knowledge and skills of medical workers related to these activities, the basics of life support (THD; BLS-Basic Life Support), communication between a doctor and a patient, principles of assistance in emergency situations, topics of professional training, etc. were developed. They are included in the curricula of ASATID named after A. Aliyev.
On June 19, 2023, the Department of Pediatrics held a training “Basic life support” for doctors undergoing a course of professional training. The training was conducted by Associate Professor of the Department, coach of WHO project "Solidarity Initiative for Health" Matanat Karakhanova. First, a test check was conducted among the participants in order to assess their level of knowledge of THD. Then the participants of the training were provided with extensive information on how to provide first aid to the victim (adult, child and infant) (also taking into account the behavior in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic). These data are visually displayed on mannequins to help approach the victim, ensure safety, call for medical help, implement a cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithm, etc. At this time, the opportunity was also given to work freely on mannequins. Through a special survey, the tasks performed by the participants were evaluated by the training staff.
