Our employee participates in the 54th Congress of the European Pancreatic Club (EPC)

On June 22, 2022, the 54th Congress of the European Club of Pancreatologists (ECP) started it’s work. Along with scientists from European countries, scientists from the USA and Japan also took part in the congress. Gulustan Babayeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A. Aliyev, represented our country at this prestigious event, which presented various studies for gastroenterologists in pancreatology and new clinical guidelines. On the first day of the online congress, he co-chaired the pre-congress course "Gut microbiome in pathogenesis and therapy of pancreatic, liver and GI tract diseases" with the support of the European Gastroenterological Association (EGA) "Intestinal diseases in pancreatic diseases", as well as in the section "Bowel diseases in pancreatic pathology and therapeutic potential” on the topic “Questions about the use of antibiotics in pancreatic disorders”.
At the official opening ceremony on June 23, 2022, the President of the European Pancreatology Club, Professor Natalia Gubergrits and the General Secretary, Professor J. Matthias Löhr, noted the rapid spread of pancreatic diseases within modern gastroenterological problems and confirmed the relevance of the problem. The Congress will be finished on June 25, 2022. In the journal “Pancretology”, where the abstracts presented at the congress were published, there are the abstracts of G. Babayeva “Spectrumof pancreatic lesions in inflammatory bowel diseases” and “COVID-19 and pancreas lesions in patients with inflammatory bowel disease”.
