The article “The Role of SPECT/CT in the Detection of Mecel's Diverticulum” of the head of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics with the course of Radiation Therapy of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institue for Doctors named after A. Aliyev, Associate Professor Farida Nasyrova, was accepted for publication in the journal Acta Scientific Journal of Gastrointestinal Disorders and published in October 2021.
The author analyzed 20 children with complaints of abdominal pain and Melena scanned by technetium in the radioisotope department of the National Cancer Center and concluded that the "gold standard" in the diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum complicated by bleeding is scintigraphy using technetium isotope. An algorithm for examining patients with suspected Meckel diverticulum has also been developed.
