Azerbaijan Society of Cardiologists and Department of Cardiology of ASATIFD named after A. Aliyev held a joint conference

The Conference which was attended by 103 cardiologists was held online. The working group of the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiology "Heart Failure" and the Department of Cardiology of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A. Aliyev entitled "Innovations in the use of antidiabetic drugs in the treatment of heart failure", "Treatment of patients with congestive and Moderate SMAF and Innovation”, “Treatment of Heart Failure and Anemia, AFFIRM AHF Study”. The conference was accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Professor F.A. Quliyev, Head of the Department of Cardiology of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after A. Aliyev, spoke on the topic “Innovations in the use of antidiabetic drugs in the treatment of heart failure”. He noted that 79% of patients had 3 or more concomitant diseases, and now this figure has grown to 87%. Even with well-chosen treatment, mortality from heart failure remains high and is characterized by a high rate of hospitalizations. In his speech, the speaker presented the research TITRATION, TRANSITION, PIONEER-HF, EVALUATE-HF, PROVE-HF, PAROLAX. -HF.
Professor of the Department of Cardiology of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after A. Aliyev Tofik Jahangirov presented the studies EMPEROR-REDUCED, DAPA-HF, SOLOIST-HF, GALACTICOS on the topic "Treatment of patients with heart failure with preserved and secondary heart failure SMAF."
Speaking on Innovation in the Treatment of Patients with Heart Failure and Anemia AFFIRM AHF Study Kamala Zakhidova, Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Aliyev Institute of Cardiology, said 17% of 12,065 heart failure patients were diagnosed with anemia. The effect of iron carboxymaltose has been studied in iron-deficient patients hospitalized after acute heart failure using the AFFIRM AHF study.
At the end of the webinar, the problems of chronic heart failure were discussed.
